Detailed program

Day 01. Hanoi arrival

Upon arrival in Hanoi, you will be met by our tour guide and transferred to the center of Hanoi. The rest of the day is at leisure. You will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.

Day 02. Hanoi visit

Breakfast at hotel, then head to along the Red River to reach Bat Trang pottery village. We will walk around the village, visit families that have the workshop of making the pottery. See how the villagers find the mud, how to make the potteries and draw on them. We also can do pottery for yourself for souvenir. Visit the pottery market beside the river where you will see numourous kind of pottery products in many beautiful colours. After that, visit Ethnology Museum (closed on Monday) which offers informative and well-documented displays of the country’s 54 ethnic groups, including elaborate and colorful hill tribe costumes. The display continues in the museum’s garden with fascinating examples of traditional houses of numerous minority groups, from the Kinhs to the ethnic groups of the Central Highlands. Next, we will visit Litterature temple, the Vietnam's first university founded in 1076. Overnight at the hotel in Ha Noi.

Day 03. Hanoi – Mai Chau

We leave Hanoi in the morning and drive towards Mai Chau, a picturesque valley where the majority of inhabitants are White Thai people. During the ride you will be impressed by the fast changing variety in landscapes which you see through the window. After passing Hoa Binh, we enter the real mountainous areas. We enter the area which is the homeland of the Muong minority, a close cousin tribe of the Vietnamese people living in the Delta. They share the region with the White Thai people who live densely in Mai Chau Valley. Arrive in Mai Chau around noon and have lunch here. In the afternoon, a walk or cycle to neighbouring villages to explore the living way of White Thai people. Dinner and enjoy a traditional dance show of the Thai people and drink Ruou Can, a wine made from mountainous rice which will be without a doubt an experience for life. Overnight at homestay in Mai Chau.

Day 04. Mai Chau– Ninh Binh

Leaving the peaceful valley of Thai poeple, we drive towards Ninh Binh, situated 150km from Mai Chau. Transfer to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of Vietnam in the 10th century, visit Dinh and Le temples, the two of the oldest and most sacred structures in Hoa Lu are the ancient temples to the founders of the Dinh and Le dynasties. In the afternoon, continue to visit Tam Coc, excursion in a rowing boat to admire a magnificent and enchanting natural landscape. Cross the three caves of Tam Coc which pierce the mountains- a spectacle that is both sublime and relaxing! After this moment of boating, you will go for a bike ride to all the Bich Dong pagodas built on the hillside. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 05. Ninh Binh visit

In the morrning, you will join a special tour “I am a sunrise farmer” in Tam Coc, which allow you to immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions and daily life of Vietnamese farmers, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
09h00 - 09h30: Feeding buffalo, have the unique opportunity to bathe and ride a buffalo.
09h30 - 10h00: Catching fish, crabs and snails, learn the techniques passed down through generations as you try your hand at this traditional skill.
10h00 - 10h30: Planting Vietnamese rice, roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and gain a deeper understanding of the process that goes into producing one of Vietnam’s staple crops.
10h30 - 11h00: Refresh yourself with a waterfall bath and explore the mystical Buffalo Cave.
11h00 - 12h00: Participate in a cooking class and savor a delightful meal prepared by the skilled chefs of Buffalo Cave.
13h30: Conclude your enriching half day tour with unforgettable memories.
In the afternoon, transfer to visit Thung Nham through a pretty rice field scattering of limestone. Thung Nham bird sanctuary is home of many birds, notably the storks, herons, chlorophyll, teal, fire shots robin, starling. You will take a boat trip to explore the flooded forest in the exciting life of wild birds. Stay overnight at the hotel in Ninh Binh.

Day 06. Ninh Binh – Halong Bay

After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to Halong Bay. Along the way, enjoy the diverse landscape, ranging from rice plantations to the meandering rivers, very typical of the Red River Delta. Arrive at the boat pier around noon. We board our cruise to discover this spectacular place. Lunch is served on board as the cruise glides through numerous islands and limestone rocks rising from the emerald waters. It is the idea place to relax and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature. Discover the truest beauty of the limestone mountains and the blue sky of Halong Bay by a kayak or a rowing boat. Back to the cruise and enjoy a sunset party before savoring a fresh seafood dinner on board. A sweet night on the cruise in your private subject.

Day 07. Halong Bay – Hanoi – flight to Hue

Enjoy breakfast in the fresh air and peaceful beauty of the Bay. When white sand beaches appear gradually as the tide goes down, you will have opportunities for swimming, sunbathing. Enjoy a brunch on board. Then, disembark the boat and transfer to Noi Bai airport to catch the flight to Hue. Overnight at hotel in Hue.

Day 08. Hue visit - Thuy Bieu Eco village

After breakfast at hotel, we will take a boat trip on the poetic Perfume River, stop to visit Thien Mu Pagoda (Celestial Lady Pagoda) built in 1601 - the symbol of Hue city. Cruise toward Thuy Bieu eco-village, an old laid-back village situated on the bank of Perfume River known for its green tea fruit orchards, an authentically village representing the countryside of Hue with the clear notion “garden-home”. Arrive in the village and join our cooking class to prepare Hue’s signature dishes with our chef’s instruction, then enjoy your creations in the open-air riverside restaurant surrounded by lush trees. The afternoon is reserved for walking or cycling through the peaceful village, visiting several communal houses, ancient temples and the garden-house, a typical and unique feature of Hue. You have chance to visit homemade incense production household and discover the life of the farmers while they are working strenuously with joys and enthusianism. Get on the car, go to visit the tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, (the fourth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty who ruled from 1847 to 1883) the buildings and gardens of which have been shaped according to the precepts of geomancy (Feng Shui). Stop over at the shop of Mrs. Bich where incense sticks and conical hats are made manually. Then, continue our day to visit Dong Ba Market to search for nice souvenirs for the loved-ones at home. Stay overnight at hotel in Hue city.

Day 09. Hue - Imperial Citadel- Kite making

After breakfast, you will visit Imperial Citadel - the Vietnam's last imperial dynasty, a moat-walled fortress built in the early 19th century. Within these walls is the Forbidden Purple City and the former residence of the royal family. In the affternoon, you will experience how to make a kite with artist and play your own kite near Perfume River. Kite flying is well-known as a long-standing cultural value in Vietnam. Overnight at hotel in Hue.

Day 10. Hue – Danang – Hoi An

Morning, we start one of most beautiful roads in Vietnam, the Mandarin Road, to Hoi An. We pass the Hai Van Pass (Ocean Cloud Pass), a mountainous highway offering splendid views over the South China Sea. We visit the Museum of Cham Sculpture in Danang, exposing antique artifacts of the former Cham Kingdom, before arriving to Hoi An-ancient town was recognized by UNESCO as being World Cultural Heritage in 1999. Hoi An used to serve as an active port of trade with the Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese and Chinese people during the 17th and 18th centuries. The streets, houses and architecture are remained ‘untouched’, despite turbulent history. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Day 11. Hoi An visit

In the monrning, drive to the boat pier, embark on the boat to Cam Thanh water coconut village, enjoy casting net show and learn how to cast net by local fisher man and you will take on the basket boat along the water coconut river, you will learn how to catch the crabs and see a wonderful performance with boat by fisherman. After that, you will take the car or bike along the peaceful villages and back to the hotel. In the afternoon, you will visit Hoi An ancient town: Japanese Covered Bridge, Phung Hung acient House, the Tan Ky ancient house and a latern workshop where you can see how to make a real latern. Overnight at hotel in Hoi An.

Day 12. Hoi An free – Saigon

In the morning, you will be free at your leisure to discover Hoi An or go to the beach.
In the afternoon, transfer to Da Nang airport for flight to Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon), which is located on the Saigon River and is known for its elegant avenues and French colonial buildings. The rest of the day free. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 13. Saigon – Ben Tre – Saigon

You will be picked up at your hotel in the morning and driven to Ben Tre. Upon arrival at Hung Vuong pier you will embark a boat to cruise on Ben Tre River, one of the tributaries of the Mekong River. The boat will cruise along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces to give you a picture of how the local economy works, including a brickworks, where bricks are still painstakingly made by hand; a coconut processing workshop, where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products; and a mat weaving house, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving yourself!
The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a nice walk to experience real Delta village life and have lunch at a local restaurant. Relax and keep going by rowing boat along the canal. You will be dropped off at the local market or An Thanh pier. Drive back to Saigon. Overnight at hotel in Saigon.

Day 14. Saigon free

Full day free at your leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Sai Gon.
